Thanks I will start to do some research onto all these rivers.
Rangatikei Toetoe Rd to Mangaweka or Mangaweka to Mangarere Rd are easy grade 2.
Fishermans section of the Mohaka
Otaki Forks if you've done a little paddling, it has some fast shallow G2 rapids
Boulder Reach section of Tongariro, again some shallow rapids
Manawatu Gorge
Happy paddling
Lee
If you are talking about never paddled before type beginners then Reid Farm Taupo or a section our club uses on the Waikato river is the Karapiro to Cambridge trip.
If you want something a little more exciting then hard to beat the Aniwhenua run on the Rangitaiki River during summer.
Around the Bay of Plenty you can't go past the Tarawera river in Kawerau (has everything from flat moving water to grade 3 rapids and plenty in between see http://www.kaweraudc.govt.nz/newsandevents/whitewaterslalom.asp) or the Waikato- Reids Farm around Taupo.
