Holidays on the south Island 19 feb - 13 march

Hi,

I'm going to be on holidays on the south island. At home (switzerland) I paddle up to grade 4 rivers.

I will not be paddling during my full 3 weeks in NZ but I would like to be able to do at least a few rivers. I would be very happy for advice on what rivers I shouldn't miss... I am also looking for people to kayak together with during this time.

I would prefer if i don't have to carry all my kayaking gear & kayaks around all the time... Do you know whether it is possible to rent equipement somethere around? I know I can rent in Christchurch, but if there are places closer to there the nice rivers are it would be even better.

If you come through Wanaka or Queenstown, give us a call 021762116, or come along to the Roaring Meg on a Tuesday night and meet heaps of kayakers :)
