According to http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PA1005/S00106.htm the Electricity (Renewable Preference) Amendment Bill has been drawn from the ballot and will now be debated in Parliament.
Rivers are not renewable, but this bill could mean more hydro schemes on our rivers under the guise of renewable energy.
