HAZARD CLARENCE RIVER FOR RECREATIONAL USERS

A significant new hazard has been identified by a Rafting Operator on the Clarence River, which we'd like to share with all recreational users

On the last rapid before the SH1 bridge - The rapid runs into concrete piles with ugly reinforcing steel poking out and at certain flows most of the flow pushes onto these and it needs extra care and may require lining rafts. Because of the position of the rapid in sight of the end of a 5 day trip it has potential to catch guides off guard.

The dangerous 'sputniks' are mentioned on the Glen Alton Bridge section description. We portaged the rapid when we encountered it a month ago (16 November). See attached image.
