The Lochy has some picturesque beech forest scenery, and nice class IV boating with a couple of portages around sumps. The water is cold and clear. The run takes about four hours from the river flats to the river mouth at the farm station and finishes with a 3.5km paddle across Lake Wakatipu to the car (shuttled there before going to the airport).
