Lovely, short, grade 3 alpine style run. Pretty simple moves, with some awesome eddy hopping, and all easily scoutable on the walk up from the car park. If you're a bit of a flash boater and like to show off your gear or your moves, there's always a keen crowd of tourists and trampers crossing the swingbridge and willing to applaud you as you roll.
To get to the put in, drive up the Matukituki Valley from Wanaka, for as far as your car will go, which should be a gate and a DOC car park @ Raspberry Creek. Chuck your boat on your shoulder and walk 1km up the track to Rob Roy Glacier until you reach the swingbridge. From there, rather than crossing the swingbridge, just carry on the track another 200m+ and look for access to the river.
The actual run's about 500m, with one 'crux' move after 400m where the water goes from right to left past a large boulder. You can rock bash to the right of the boulder, with pinning potential, or go left with the flow, but also with the potential of broaching between 2 rocks. This is at low flows of 60-90 cumecs. Above that, it's supposed to be good fun.
Paddle all the way down to the car park to get out.
