The Utiku to Mangaweka run on the Rangitikei is a great place for new paddlers and multisporters who are training for the Coast to Coast etc. Generally Grade II but there can be some big swirly things and bluffs to contend with when the flow is up a bit.
Scenery is great. Many a mighty ww paddler has cut their teeth on this run.
Definitely Grade II and not Grade I
