Anyone have any beta on what's in the deep gorge next to the main highway as it drops through this gorge from Tamaranui towards Stratford?

sure seems to have heaps of gradient as viewed from the drive down the gravel road, steep canyon as well

where u cross the bridge by the memorial on down to the last take out at the bridge on the kahuratai road it is grade 2 with trees and snags but nice bush scenery .From the take out bridge you can paddle on out to the Wanganui river.Grahamn Egarr has a description in his nth island river guide.From memory no real white water but a great wilderness trip
