Canadian canoeist looking to paddle New Zealand

I'm interested in finding information on multi-day canoe trips in New Zealand. I will be in travelling New Zealand in February and want ot do a trip or two. My preferance is for class 2 to 2+ water but any information on good canoe routes would be much appreciated.

I've used a Canadian canoe on the Whanganui and Rangitata, but don't have much more to offer other than the following:

Manawatu-Wanganui/Whanganui River (Taumarunui to Pipiriki), I-II, 3-4 days?
160 kms of hills and bush, sheer-walled gorges. Lots of history of the river steamers, ancient maori villages and battles. Hundreds of named rapids, but most are simple ripples. Can continue below Pipiriki for an even longer journey. Easy to hire canoes and gear.

Canterbury/Clarence, II-II+, 3-4-days
Through barren high-country gorges and valleys. Mountains. Great camping. Awkward logistics.

Canterbury/Waimakariri Gorge, 1 or 2-days II

Westland/Buller River, Owen River down, II-III
Could overnight in Murchison. Some harder rapids, bigger water, placid below Buller Earthquake section (III).
