More details soon...

The large pine tree that was blocking the rangatieki between the last fantail and Jeffs has been partially cleared with a reasonable route now existing. However the end of the tree is still in the water on river left, the trunk and root ball are perched on a very steep bank above and the roots have loosened boulders some of which are several cubic metres in size and only held in place by snapped off roots which will rot off in the near future. So this rapid will change and is very likely to be blocked by timber and or rocks again. So as I know you always do check this rapid out before every descent.
