Swiftwater Rescue (Operations) Course - NFPA1670 Certified

The Rescue 3 International Swiftwater Rescue First Responder (NFPA1670 Operations Level) course is being held in Taupo 13-14 December.

Two day Technician (SRT1) courses will be held in 2004 for those who have completed the two day Responder course.

Course fee $150 - must supply own wetsuit, helmet, pfd, lunch etc.

Swiftwater Rescue do not do kayaking or canoeing. I would suggest getting in contact with NZOIA or some of the Kayaking companies in NZ.

Im writing to you to ask your advice on finding a job as a canoeing coach. I currently live in the UK but am looking for oppurtunities to coach canoeing to individuals around the globe. I currently hold my Level 3 Open Canoe Coach which allows me to take groups of 6 students on grade 2 white water I also hold my five star training and white water safety and rescue. if you know of any jobs or how to find out about current vacancies please drop me a line.

Swiftwater Rescue don't have courses tailored specifically to the needs of kayakers, at this point in time.

If you are after a River Safety or Rescue course for kayaking then have a look at the Education pages on this website. Go to 'Approved Safety courses', if you do a course with any of these L2's we will refund you a $60 subsidy - so long as you are a member of NZRCA (through a club or individual).

The best way is to get a group of paddlers together and then give them a call. Several of these instructors travel up and down the country so you can try instructors that are outside your area (or on the other Island), they maybe passing through and can run a course for you and some mates.
