What is the standard??

Do the polytechnics train there students enough in terms of risk mangement?

Is their training up to industry standard?

What level of risk mangement do you think instructors need

Cheers

At Timaru Aoraki Polytech,Outdoor Rec course, we are trained focusing on just risk management for up to a week in each year. Then for the rest of the 3years risk management is high priority. We are trained up to the standards to be able to gain NZOIAs. most of our 3yrs already have their rock one.
So hopefully what we are being trained with are industry standards. And the level of risk mngt for an instructor should be pretty high, dont want any stupid accidents happening out there in the wat wats. for the sake of the people involved and the sake of the industry!!
