In response to industry feedback the New Zealand Rafting Association will be running its first rescue workshop providing a forum for the discussion of, practice of and learning of rescue skills applicable to people who work in a Rafting Grade 2 river environment.
The importance of rescue skills on Grade 2 is too often dismissed in this area and the opportunities to practice them arise very infrequently.
NZRA will be hosting this course between the 7th and 9th of November, 2007 at Mangaweka. Included in the workshop are a CPR Refresher, all meals from lunch on Day One to lunch on Day Three and transport required throughout the workshop.
If you and anyone you know working in the grade 2 area of the
rafting industry but may include outdoor education facitilities, fishing guides and bungy jump operators with river based retrievals you may wish to take this rare opportunity to join your peers in an exchange of invaluable skills and ideas and use them in scenarios set up to reflect the realities of working in the Grade 2 environment.
