Best River Running Boats

Forums:

Just getting back into whitewater river running after a couple of years off. The boats have definitely changed and I am getting another one. Anyone got some ideas about the best river running boats out at the moment for grade 3-5?

Cheers,
Mark

We have the biggest range of WW kayaks in the country and you can dmo them all on the Kaituna

If you want a top modern creeker I can highly recommend the Eskimo Salto. The old Perception Corsica S will still get you pretty much wherever you want to go (although is a bit long for some of the gnarly stuff being run now) and the Dagger RPM is a still a great boat for general use for most things except steep stuff. The best small volume creeker is probably a toss-up between the Perception Java or the Pyranha Microbat 230/240. Get into some demo boats if you can before you commit.

Dude, it will depend on your stylez. Are you a mellow downriver boy or wanna throw that wheel on the drop? Boats have changed a load but they will all get you down, it just depends on how you want to get down.
Creekers seem to be on the "to get" list at the mo and the Huka is cheap and looks good. Otherwise just get into any boat that you can get your hands on and give a go. (You never know what will work for YOU) Good luck.
