Summary?:

Around midday a party of four kayakers set off down Awesome Gorge in high flow (gates open). In the narrow gorge (approx. 3m wide) they encountered several logs forming an X and one kayaker became between the trees under water. One of the group hiked out of the gorge and across farmland to raise the alarm. The body and kayak were recovered late that afternoon
