The Annual General Meeting for the NZRCA will be held on Saturday 6 September at Level 6, PSA House, 10 Aurora Terrace, Wellington from 9am to 9am to 12.30pm. Lunch will be provided.All paddlers are welcome to attend, at any stage of the day. The AGM will be followed by an Executive meeting from 1.30pm to 5pm, then we'll be keen on a drink and dinner at a local restaurant. Following a positive Annual General Meeting on Saturday 7, we welcome several additions to the NZRCA Executive: Mike Birch as our new Vice-President; Tony Ward-Holmes takes over as NZ Canoeing Editor (while Polly continues with overall Communications); Glenn Murdoch inherits the Safety and Education roles from Janet Nicol. Thanks to Janet for her awesome work in the Safety area over a difficult period.
The latest issue of NZRCA's official newsletter "NZ Canoeing" is now available to members. Features include the nomination of Ron Wastney of Nelson for Canoeist of the Year, an update from President Robin Rutter-Baumann regarding challenges facing the NZRCA, background on the Tongariro Power Development and Waikato River Resource Consents projects, paddling in California and other stories. The NZRCA Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 5 August 2000, 9:30am-4.00pm at the SVS Rooms, 3rd floor, 160 Manchester St, Christchurch. It would be great to see a lot of members at the AGM - especially those based in and around Christchurch, so please keep this date free. For clubs that are from further afield, please think about sending a representative.
